André & Elly Hanssen


André is a creative director, MC, communicator, leader and performer. 

He is the Creative/Arts Minister at Majestic in Christchurch, NZ, a community committed to creativity. 

Andre started SALT CREATIVE CONVERGENCE - a one of a kind creative conference which ran from 2005 - 2010 (taking a long hiatus due to the CHC earthquakes) And now with a rebrand ModeCON is here. 

He also is the director of Swarm Creative Collaboration a performing arts crew and training company that have performed at events & festivals all over the world.

Through his various roles André is able to connect to many people leading and encouraging their creativity with a message to show love, give hope and inspire faith through conversations, presentations and performing arts.


Elly Hanssen is a singer, dancer, songwriter, business owner, choreographer, producer and communicator. Driven by her love for people and creativity Elly has found fulfilment and success through her many years in the entertainment industry and brings a unique take on what it means to live out your dreams.

Elly has travelled the world and extensively in the USA as a ‘back up’ dancer for many hip hop and R&B artists as well as performing in an ‘all girl’ group out of Atlanta.

Elly’s singles include ‘like your style’, ‘Elvis’ #3 on the iTunes charts ‘round & round’ which gained national mainstream radio play & #3 on the iTunes charts. Her latest single release ‘Faking out’ landed at the top of the playlist on Spotify ‘VIRAL Hits AUS & NZ’ as well as ‘New Music Friday’ and several other Spotify Playlists.

Elly runs Swarm Studios a performing arts studio in Christchurch and Brisbane training, encouraging and empowering over 400 students to pursue their passions in the arts. Elly will be sharing stories, bringing insight and will pop up on stage too bringing her infectious vibe to the shows at ModeCON ‘19.



David is what you would consider a ‘slashie’ - Creative producer/artist/song writer/lead singer/arts and entertainment mentor/artist developer/Backing Vocalist/communicator.
A Creative pastor working and leading within the arts & entertainment industry - developing and mentoring artists. 

A key lead singer for Hillsong Worship David has toured the globe singing and encouraging humanity through lyric and melody at various events, conferences, Festivals and churches.

His alter ego Louis Carter is a R&B/Trap artist that comfortably blends genres whilst telling real stories with bravado.

A Christchurch transplant from a small country town, learnt to sew at the age of 5 and never looked back!

Originally studying fashion design in 2010 at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. Unfulfilled creatively Shannon wanted a new challenge so, a year on following her graduation, Shannon moved to London to take up an internship propelling her into the world of fashion on an international level.

After gaining huge experience overseas and a current visa coming to an end - Shannon returned home to start "OUT OF COMFORT" - launching her menswear label in 2017 in Christchurch and globally.

Focused on a relaxed silhouette, with exaggerated accents for added finesse, Out of Comfort is a young brand striving to create a space of creativity, substance, authenticity, collaboration and ultimately finding your comfort against the grain!



Part of the creative team at Majestic, creator of an ongoing graphic novel set in future Christchurch titled DEEP BLUE and co-owner of a design brand Biscoot & Rain based in and inspired by indigenous cultures, Ben spent most of his life in India; hailing from a remote hill tribe which speaks a language listed on the official world endangered languages site. Since moving to New Zealand for the change of scenery, he's settled into Christchurch and has ever since found his niche in graphic design, drawing, writing, and conversations on cultures and subcultures.

Matt is a husband, father and creative director/owner of design studio McCarthy. McCarthy is a team of 7 who primarily working across brand identity, campaign and web. Prior to this Matt spent 9 years in the design industry in both Christchurch and Auckland where his work has been recognised at the New Zealand design awards on an ongoing basis. Matt has worked for clients who paint, draw, sing, dance, act, perform, develop software, design clothes, make clothes, mend clothes, produce kombucha, drink kombucha, make food, serve drinks, design buildings, construct buildings, develop buildings, clean buildings and work in buildings.

Joel works as a designer alongside his older brother at McCarthy. Before this, Joel studied at Ara, for a bachelor of visual communication, which led to an internship and from then on, a full time role at McCarthy. While working there, Joel has had the opportunity to be involved in, or take lead on a lot of projects ranging from small scale, low budget brand identities, to large scale nationwide campaigns – and everything in-between.

Sam Brosnahan is the President of the UC Students’ Association (UCSA), the body overseeing 17,000 students at the University of Canterbury. His job involves creating experiences that help students find success and belonging throughout their university journey. Following the 15 March Mosque Attacks in Christchurch, Sam and team were involved in the initial student response that combined collaboration, creativity and community.

This year Sam and his UCSA team will welcome students into a brand-new $32 million complex, bringing back to the university its on-campus student hub lost after the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. It’s a story 125 years in the making, mixed in with the art of patience, learning how to co-design and coordinating investment into an overall vision. Sam will touch on the ways in which the physical spaces we create can be positive forces for community and belonging.


Nelson born, Auckland based music producer LMC has made a name for himself in both New Zealand & the International beat production & DJ scene most recently becoming a certified platinum producer. LMC has been working with some of Hip Hops biggest names with production credits for Rich The Kid, Lil Skies, Hoodrich Pablo, Yung Bans and others LMC has made his mark in the hip hop scene. 

As a producer LMC has gained his own fan base collecting over 21,000 Soundcloud followers alone & has been featured on such blogs as Vice, Sniffers, Elevator, Lyrical Lemonade, Red Bull, George Fm, Rinse Fm, Soulection and more. He has also played his own string of Headline shows in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin & Sydney whilst playing at Rhythm & Vines, Bay Dreams and other shows in between.
